Usage of Dimethyldioctylammonium chloride
Dimethyldioctylammonium Chloride (DDAC, CAS 5538-94-3) is a dialkyl quaternary ammonium cationic surfactant with broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity. It features low foam performance, excellent stability in hard water and medium organic load, strong bactericidal, algicidal and fungicidal properties against Gram-positive, Gram-negative bacteria, fungi and certain viruses.
Main Applications
- Industrial Water Treatment (Core Market) Biocide & algaecide for cooling tower circulating water, industrial recirculating water, swimming pool water and oilfield injection water. It controls bacteria, algae and microbial slime, prevents pipeline and equipment blockage and corrosion. Low-foam characteristic avoids disturbance to circulating water systems, compatible with common water treatment additives.
- Hard-Surface Disinfectant & Sanitizer Formulations Used for institutional, industrial and food processing sanitation. Suitable for hard surface disinfectants, sanitizing cleaners, disinfection sprays for food plants, dairies, hospitals, public facilities and livestock premises. It provides fast microbial kill and leaves fewer residues.
- Pulp & Paper Industry Slimicide to inhibit slime-forming bacteria and fungi in paper machine white water, reduce paper defects and improve production efficiency.
- Wood Preservation & Fungicide Wood preservative, mildew inhibitor for timber, lumber and wood-based materials to prevent fungal decay and mould growth.
