Usage Of N-Chlorosuccinimide
1. Selective chlorinating reagent in organic synthesis
It delivers electrophilic chlorine for controlled chlorination, including α-chlorination of carbonyl compounds, allylic / benzylic radical chlorination, and electrophilic chlorination of phenols, anilines and heterocyclic aromatics. It provides better regioselectivity than chlorine gas for sensitive substrates.
2.Mild oxidizing agent for fine chemical manufacturing
Used for selective oxidation of alcohols, sulfides and diols; converts olefins into epoxides under mild conditions, minimizing side reactions for complex molecular synthesis.
3. Pharmaceutical API & intermediate synthesis
widely adopted in peptide synthesis and peptide bond cleavage analysis.
4. Agrochemical and dye intermediate production
Applies to synthesis of halogenated pesticide intermediates and dye molecules.
5. Synthesis of rubber additives
