Usage Of Sodium PCA

Sodium PCA (Sodium Pyrrolidone Carboxylate) is the sodium salt of pyroglutamic acid, a natural moisturizing factor (NMFnaturally present in human skin. It is a high-performance amino acid humectant with strong water-binding capacity.
1. Skincare Products
It attracts and retains moisture in the stratum corneum, improves skin softness and elasticity,and helps maintain healthy skinbarrier function. Suitable for leave-on formulations including toners, serums, moisturizers, creams, lotions, after-sun care andsensitive skin products. It is non-greasy and non-comedogenic. Recommended dosage: 0.2-2.5%.
2. Hair Care Formulations
Hair conditioning agent that reduces static electricity, improves combability, softness and shine. Widely used in shampoos,
conditioners and scalp treatments
3. Rinse-off Cleansers
Humectant added to facial cleansers, body washes and micellar water to reduce tightness and moisture loss after washing.
Typical dosage: up to 3%.
4. Color Cosmetics
Hydrating additive for foundations, lipsticks and makeup products to improve spreadability and prevent drying.
5. Other Applications
Can be used in mild household cleaning formulations and pharmaceutical topical preparations as skin conditioning agent.
