Usage of Etidronic acid
1. Industrial Water Treatment
As an organic phosphonic acid scale and corrosion inhibitor, HEDP chelates stably with iron, copper, zinc and other metal ions, removing oxides on metal surfaces efficiently. It remains stable at temperatures up to 250°C, hardly decomposes under thermal or light conditions and performs well in high-pH environments. It forms hexagonal ring chelate compounds with calcium ions to restrain calcium scale precipitation, and delivers prominent synergistic effects when blended with other water treatment chemicals.
Widely used in circulating cooling water systems of power plants, chemical plants, metallurgy and fertilizer factories, low-pressure boilers and oilfield water injection pipelines for scale inhibition and corrosion prevention.
2. Industrial Cleaning & Textile Industry
Liquid HEDP serves as high-efficiency cleaning agent for metallic and non-metallic workpieces in light industry. In printing and dyeing production, it acts as stabilizer for peroxide bleaching to avoid peroxide breakdown and solid residue generation.
