Isothiazolinone (CMIT/MIT, CAS 55965‑84‑9) is a broad‑spectrum non‑oxidizing biocide and preservative. It delivers fast‑acting inhibition against bacteria, fungi, yeasts and algae at low dosage. Widely adopted across water‑treatment, coatings, metal‑working fluid, paper‑making, adhesive, detergent and cosmetic industries. It features good compatibility with surfactants and emulsifiers, stable performance over pH 2‑9, and favorable biodegradability without persistent residues. Available in 1.5% and 14% active‑content liquid grades for different industrial formulation needs.
