Usage of Tricresyl Phosphate TCP
1. TCP is a classic aryl‑phosphate flame‑retardant plasticizer, a mixed‑isomer organophosphate ester with excellent thermal stability, hydrolysis resistance and outstanding electrical insulation performance. It integrates plasticizing, flame‑retardant, mildew‑proof and wear‑resistant functions, widely applied in industrial polymer modification, coating, rubber and lubricant fields. Low ortho‑isomer grade shall be selected for industrial use due to neuro‑toxic risk of ortho‑cresyl isomer.
2.Excellent multifunctional additive for soft PVC system. It shows superior compatibility with polyvinyl chloride resin, improves flexibility, abrasion resistance and weather‑resistance of PVC materials. It forms dense char layer upon combustion to hinder flame propagation. Suitable for wire & cable insulation and sheath, conveyor belt, PVC flooring, wallpaper, artificial leather and calendered sheets. It maintains stable insulating property under long‑term service condition.
3.Applied for nitrocellulose, cellulose acetate, phenolic resin, neoprene rubber and other synthetic rubber formulations. It acts as plasticizer and flame‑retardant solvent for nitro‑lacquer and coating systems, enhances film flexibility, impact resistance and anti‑mildew performance of finished coatings, avoids film cracking and aging. Also used in viscose fiber and textile coating treatment.
4.High‑performance extreme‑pressure anti‑wear additive for industrial lubricant, gear oil, metal‑working fluid and fire‑resistant hydraulic fluid. It generates protective phosphide film on metal friction surface under high‑load working condition, reduces friction coefficient, prevents metal seizure and abrasion damage, improves service life of hydraulic and transmission equipment.
5.Used in engineering plastics modification including PPO/HIPS, PC/ABS alloy. It provides flame retardancy without obvious influence on processing flow‑ability, applicable for electrical‑plastic components requiring flame‑retardant and insulating property. It can be compounded with other flame retardants to realize synergistic effect for higher fire‑safety grade.
